I finally hit the golf ball fairly well again today. I shot a 75, and that was with two shanked pitch shots and the most horrible lip-out putt ever. It hit the back of the hole and somehow bounced back over the hole and sat on the front edge. So overall it was a very good round. I also bought a new Ben Hogan Hybrid club that I found in the Eagle's Landing G.C. 25% off bag. It was marked down to begin with, so instead of $119.99 plus tax I got it for $74.87 plus tax. Even though I only have a week left before school, it already proved its worth today on the course.

Finally, Matt Garza got his first major league win tonight, beating the Baltimore Orioles 4-1. He threw 84 pitches in six innings, gave up five hits, one run, and zero earned runs. In the final analysis, he's been getting better and better in each of his three starts. Granted, Baltimore, isn't the greatest team ever, but if Garza can consistently throw this well, we will have a very solid back of the rotation starter for the remainder of the season and hopefully the playoffs. Now, if Liriano could just keep getting healthier. Speaking of healthy, Chicago took a major blow tonight when Jim Thome pulled his hamstring. I like watching Thome hit, but hey, that's a big bonus for us if he's hurt. He's a huge part of Chicago's lineup.
The White Sox can't handle the piran-yas.
